Learning Objectives
- To hear from the CMO Professor Chris Whitty on his 2025 CMO Annual Report on Infections relevant to older adults including;
- Highlighting the role preventing infection has on healthy ageing and older adults.
- To raise awareness of the underappreciated risk that infections precipitate stroke and myocardial infarction and the role of cardiovascular risk factor optimisation.
- To raise awareness of the Sepsis Modern Service Framework
- To provide an overview of the up-to-date vaccine schedule for older adults, and SW uptake/impact.
- To raise awareness of regional and local approaches to prevent infection amongst older adults, including vaccination and infection prevention control measures.
