Obtaining Completion Certificates and Downloading Portfolio Contents
- Completion certificates will be released on Horus once both the panel chair and the Foundation Doctor have signed the ARCP outcome form.
- The School will then need to create a certificate, but this will not be done until there is less than 28 days from the end of the current Foundation Year (in July). This is a GMC requirement.
- When produced the completed F1CC/FPCC can be viewed and downloaded from the relevant foundation doctor’s portfolio “Overview” page. It can be found under the “ARCP” tab.
- Please download a copy of your certificates and retain them for future use. We will not send a copy of your certificate to you.
- You are also able to download your full portfolio and guidance can be found on the Horus website.
IMPORTANT!
How long Can I access my Horus portfolio after I have completed Foundation Training?
Your Horus portfolio will only remain on the site for 6 years after you have completed foundation. After this time it will be removed so it is important to download items you require for future roles and applications.
The School team will not be able to access your portfolio either after 6 years so we as a school cannot provide you with certificates after this time.
Prescribing Safety Assessment (PSA)
The Prescribing Safety Assessment (PSA) has been developed jointly by the British Pharmacological Society (BPS) and MSC Assessment. It is intended to be a valid and reliable tool allowing medical graduates and foundation doctors to demonstrate that they have achieved the core prescribing competencies outlined in Outcomes for graduates (originally published in Tomorrow’s Doctors).
- All F1 doctors are required to pass the PSA to be awarded a Foundation Year 1 Certificate of Completion (F1CC) at the end of the first year of the foundation programme.
- F2 stand-alone doctors can choose to sit the PSA, if they and their supervisor(s) feel this may be helpful to them. This should be discussed with their foundation school.
UKFPO resources for sitting the PSA
Further information on the PSA can be found on the UKFPO website.
The UKFPO have also provided some extra resources to help you pass the PSA:
Take a look at a new set of Preparation resources for sitting the PSA, which includes resources shared by UK medical schools to support new F1 doctors who graduated outside the UK to prepare for sitting the PSA.
