Recruitment Timetable

Specialty recruitment to ophthalmology will follow a pre-set timetable that is outlined below. For further details of the recruitment process please refer to the applicant guide.

Applications Close	19 November 2026	Applications can be submitted until 4:00 pm (UK time). Late applications will not be accepted.
Invitation to Book MSRA expected no later than	TBC	A message will be sent via Oriel inviting candidates to book a slot to sit the MSRA.  Full instructions will be given within the message.
Multi-Specialty Recruitment Assessment (MSRA)	TBC	All candidates will be required to attend. Candidates that do not attend the MSRA will not progress through the selection process.
Documentation Upload Window	January 2027, date TBC	The evidence portal will be open during this period. All candidates will be asked to upload documentation to the portal that will form a folder of achievements. The portal will close at 10:00 am (UK time).
Feedback: Evidence Folders	February 2027, date TBC	The scores awarded and comments will be released to candidates.
Candidates invited to book an interview slot	March 2027, date TBC	A message will be sent via Oriel inviting candidates to book a slot. A text message will also be sent.
Preferences Open	March 2027, date TBC	A list of confirmed posts will be published on Oriel and candidates will be asked to rank them in their order of preference. The ability to make/change preferences will be paused shortly before offers are made.
Interviews	March 2027, date TBC	The interviews will be virtual and candidates will not need to attend in person.
Feedback: Interview	March 2027, date TBC	Candidates will be emailed feedback which will include the scores and comments from the virtual interview.
Offers Released by no later than	TBC	Offers will be made via the Oriel System.
