Local Intelligence

Feedback via the Escalating Concerns process enables individuals and organisations to raise, and where appropriate, escalate concerns regarding a learning environment.

However, local procedures should be followed first as the escalating concerns process does not replace any serious incident reporting procedures implemented by providers.

Quality Panels are a key mechanism to understand the quality of education and training of all posts/locations. They have led to constructive conversations with providers and the implementation of changes to improve the placements. Resident doctors have also reported that they find quality panels to be useful listening events and a valuable opportunity for them to offer constructive feedback and ideas for wider improvement.

As an alternative to Quality Panels, Quality Management Discussions can also be held to review the quality of all posts/locations.
