Provider Self-Assessment (SA) is a process by which ‘Clinical Placement Providers’ carry out their own quality evaluation against Quality Framework Standards. It is based on the philosophy of continuous quality improvement, the identification of quality improvement potential, the development of action plans, implementation, and subsequent evaluation.
GMC National Trainee/Trainer Survey (NTS/NTRS) annually asks resident doctors for feedback on the training they receive. They also ask trainers about the support they get in their supervisory role. Free-Text comments also highlight patient safety and bullying and undermining concerns.
NHS England National Education and Training Survey (NETS) is the only national survey open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students and trainees undertaking a practice placement or training post in healthcare as part of their education and training programme.
The NETS gathers views from students and trainees about their time working and training in practice placements and training posts, asking them to provide feedback on what worked well and what they think could be improved.
National Student Survey (NSS) annually asks final-year students for their feedback on their university or college course.
CQC monitor, inspect, and regulate services and publish their findings.
